Scanner profiles are created by an administrator in Admin Setup → Scanner Profiles and define the hardware and scan parameters. On the QC toolbar:

  1. Select a profile from the Scan Source drop-down.
  2. Click the profile name button to open the profile editor directly.
  3. The selected profile is remembered between sessions for each user.

Initialising the Scanner

  1. Ensure the scanner is powered on and connected.
  2. Select the correct profile from the Scan Source drop-down.
  3. Click Select Scanner to open the hardware selection dialog and choose the physical device.
  4. Click Start Scanner (the button label changes from Select Scanner once a device is selected).
  5. The scanner is now ready; scan buttons in the toolbar become active.

Scan Operations

ButtonAction
Scan PageScans a single page from the feeder or flatbed and appends it to the current batch.
Scan AllContinuously scans all pages in the ADF and appends them to the batch.
StopHalts an in-progress scan job.
Replace PageScans a single page and replaces the currently selected page in the tree view.
Import FileImports an existing image file (TIFF, JPEG, BMP, PDF) as a new page rather than scanning from hardware.

Scanning is blocked while a batch is being closed or suspended. The system will prompt you to finish scanning first.

Job Profile Settings

When a batch has a Job Profile configured in Batch Setup, the scan toolbar adjusts to match. Tick Apply Profile in the toolbar to lock the scan settings to the profile values:
